De Panne is a quiet and friendly town near Ostende and is attractively situated in a sandy valley and is reported to have the most beautiful sand dunes on the North Sea coast. You will have approx 3 hours to explore the town. De Panne was originally a fishing village, very popular with artists, which quickly developed into a modern holiday centre. It is much favoured by the French, and has many attractions and leisure activities. The town and its surroundings became famous during the First World War as being the only unoccupied part of Belgium and the residence of King Albert and Queen Elizabeth. Includes channel crossing and return travel by coach.
