Lake District
Monday 30th August 2010
This lovely tour explores The Lake District, an area of
outstanding natural beauty and home to the five
tallest mountains, the deepest lake in England and
two national parks with thriving communities like
Keswick and Bowness-on-Windermere. Scenic
countryside, picturesque villages, plenty to see and do
make up this delightful region, and we offer a taste of
the very best. Bowness is Cumbria’s most popular
destination with visitors coming to enjoy the lake and
to relax and enjoy the atmosphere, pretty setting, and
delightful Victorian architecture. We see Coniston
Water, scene of Donald Campbell’s world water speed
record attempts, and take in the spectacular scenery
of Ullswater and the Kirkstone Pass with breathtaking views. Keswick nestled between
the North Lakeland fells and Derwentwater, England’s widest and most stunning lake.
We also visit Grasmere, once the home of the famous poet William Wordsworth.
