Spalding Flower Festival
Friday 30th April 2010
One of the most popular events in Lincolnshire is the annual Spalding Flower Festival whose origins date right back to the 1920s and 1930s. It has developed into one of the UK's most colourful events and in 2010, the Parade theme will be Screen Heroes. It will consist of traditional decorated flower floats, marching bands, musical trailers, plus many other entries followed by the Carnival Finale. Springfields Arena and Gardens will be our destination and it will be awash with beautiful static floats adorned with tulip heads, and pretty spring flowers. The Springfields Festival Gardens are beautifully landscaped, featuring Chelsea-style celebrity showcase gardens and a spectacular Japanese Garden. We include a visit to Easton Walled Gardens, which U.S President Franklin D Roosevelt (whilst on his honeymoon) described as ‘A dream of Nirvana… almost too good to be true ‘! This is always a popular tour so please book early to avoid disappointment.
