The Rhine Valley
Thursday 5th August 2010
One of Germany’s main attractions – and rightly
so, given the scenery. The Rhine Valley has
vineyards and castles clinging to the hillsides,
charming villages and towns with a warm
welcome. The small village of Boppard lies in the
Loreley valley, where the Celts settled in ancient
times and where the Romans cultivated the art of
winemaking. The Ebertor Hotel is our base located
on the banks of the romantic Rhine. Explore narrow streets in the wine town of
Rudesheim and stroll along the famous Drosselgasse, a lively narrow cobblestoned
lane lined with old inns and wine cellars and also visit the world’s largest cuckoo clock
in St Goar. Take a boat trip to the legendary Loreley Rock and see Koblenz with its
mighty fortress and castle towers and palaces. No trip to the Rhine is complete
without a wine tasting somewhere along the way.
