On this fantastic coach day trip to London, you will enjoy a leisurely day out at Buckingham Palace and combine a visit to the State Rooms with a special guided tour of the most remarkable features of the famous garden.

Buckingham Palace serves as both the office and London residence of Her Majesty The Queen, as well as the administrative headquarters of the Royal Household. It is one of the few working royal palaces remaining in the world today. Today the State Rooms are used extensively by The Queen and Members of the Royal Family to receive and entertain their guests on State, ceremonial and official occasions. For a short period during Summer, when The Palace is not being used in its official capacity, the nineteen magnificent state rooms are open to visitors.

The State Rooms form the heart of the working palace and are lavishly furnished with some of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection - paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Poussin and Canaletto; sculpture by Canova; exquisite examples of Sèvres porcelain; and some of the finest English and French furniture.

Each year, Buckingham Palace's summer opening features a special exhibition. This year's exhibition will celebrate the 70th birthday of the Prince of Wales.

Unique to this coach day trip is the Garden Highlights Tour which includes the beautiful Herbaceous Border, the wisteria-clad summer house and Rose Garden, the enormous Waterloo Vase and the Palace tennis court, where King George VI and Fred Perry played in the 1930s. The 39-acre garden is today the setting for The Queen's Garden Parties. Described as "a walled oasis in the middle of London", it boasts more than 350 types of wild flower, over 200 trees and a three-acre lake.

Between the audio tour of the State Rooms and the guided tour of the garden, you can take in the panoramic view of the famous lawn from the popular Garden Cafe on the West Terrace and visit the Garden shop.

A visit to Buckingham Palace State Rooms lasts approximately two and a half hours and the guided tour of the garden lasts around 45 minutes.
