Clarence House is one of the last remaining aristocratic town houses in London and is the official residence of TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. Built between 1825 & 1827 to the designs of John Nash, Clarence House takes its name from its first occupant, William Henry, Duke of Clarence, later William IV. The arrangement of the rooms and the groupings of their contents remain much as they were in Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother's time, with important works from Her Majesty's famous collection of art in their former positions. Today, visitors are guided around the five rooms on the ground floor, where official engagements are undertaken and important guests are received by Their Royal Highnesses. A visit to Clarence House lasts approximately an hour.

Buckingham Palace serves as both the office and London residence of Her Majesty The Queen, as well as the administrative headquarters of the Royal Household. It is one of the few working royal palaces remaining in the world today.

Today the State Rooms are used extensively by The Queen and Members of the Royal Family to receive and entertain their guests on State, ceremonial and official occasions. For a short period during Summer, when not being used in its official capacity, the Palace's nineteen magnificent state rooms are open to visitors.

The State Rooms form the heart of the working palace and are lavishly furnished with some of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection - paintings by Rembrandt, Van Dyck and Canaletto; sculpture by Canova; exquisite examples of Sèvres porcelain; and some of the finest English and French furniture in the world.

Each year, Buckingham Palace's summer opening features a special exhibition. This year's exhibition will celebrate the 70th birthday of the Prince of Wales.

At the end of a visit to the State Rooms, Buckingham Palace's popular Garden Cafe on the West Terrace is the perfect place to gather and enjoy views across the famous lawn.

A visit to Buckingham Palace lasts approximately two and a half hours.
