Winchester Christmas Market

Visit one of the UK's top Christmas Markets!

Book Now

Founded in 2006, Winchester Christmas Market is recognised as one of the best in Europe, renowned for its unique location and high quality exhibitors where wonderful gifts, decorations and festive foods are found in abundance. Inspired by traditional German Christmas Markets, the pretty wooden chalets are situated in Winchester’s historic inner close surrounding a real ice rink. The exhibitors are hand-picked for their interesting, high quality and unique products many of which cannot be bought on the high street. If you are looking for that special something, make sure you visit the jewellers, painters, glass makers and textile artists selling unique British gifts and decorations.

There's also plenty of choice when it comes to food and drink at the Christmas Market and you'll find chalets selling festive favourites such as mulled wine, bratwurst, mince pies and stollen. Alternatively, the Cathedral Refectory and ice rink cafe provide a warm and comfortable setting with plenty of seating and great menus.

Away from the Christmas Market, Winchester itself is popular for its shopping streets and architecture and quirky open air events, Winchester is most well known for its eleventh century cathedral and for the Great Hall which for over 600 years has housed the mysterious Round Table. Winchester College is the oldest continuously running school in the country, whilst the Hospital of St Cross, a medieval almshouse, still offers the Wayfarer’s Dole to travellers as it has done for more than eight centuries. Home of good food, birthplace of the modern game of cricket, resting place of author Jane Austen and inspiration to the many craft-makers and artists who live here, Winchester is truly a destination for all seasons.
