The Birmingham Tattoo returns to the National Indoor Arena Birmingham for its 27th year. Enjoy an unforgettable coach holiday as you join us to experience this famous annual event bringing together massed bands with a wealth of performers to ensure a three hour extravaganza. Also for 2015, the Tattoo marks the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. With one of the largest gathering of massed military bands and standard bearers in the UK, exciting displays and the spectacular Grand Finale, it's a breathtaking performance of military splendour and a truly memorable experience!
As an added bonus, our hotel is just a short drive to be able to include time to visit Birmingham's very own "Frankfurt Christmas Market". The Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market is the largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany and Austria and has become a very popular market in the UK. The authentic wooden chalets offer traditional hand crafted gifts, food and drink are imported in their entirety and installed in the beautiful setting of Victoria Square. The Christmas Craft Fair first started in 2005 and has increased in size every year. Located right next to the famous Frankfurt Christmas Market, the Craft Fair gives visitors the chance to browse an entirely different selection of items crafted by local artisans, as well as goods imported from all over the world by local traders. This combination plus regular entertainment, the lights, sounds and smells offer a truly unique experience.
Day 1 We make our journey to the Midlands. We enjoy a brief stop on the way in Stratford upon Avon, before arriving at our hotel in Birmingham mid to late afternoon.
Day 2 After breakfast, spend free time in Birmingham, with time to visit the "Frankfurt" Christmas Markets and Craft Fair before returning to take lunch at hotel at 2pm. Later we head to the NIA for the Birmingham Tattoo. The performance starts at 6pm. Over 1,000 military musicians and other performers will line up for this year's special 25th Birmingham International Tattoo.
Day 3 Following a leisurely start, we include a morning excursion to the wonderful National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas then make our return journey home.
Please note this itinerary was produced well in advance of the 2015 holiday season and that all excursion content was correct at that time but could have been subject to change in the meantime. We reserve the right to make any changes necessary without prior notification.
