Buzzlines Commuter Service
It is with deep regret that we have now provided notice to terminate our commuter service. Please note that the final day of the service will be Friday 28th April 2017. Until this date the service will continue to run as normal so daily, weekly and monthy tickets remain available. For those who wish to travel during this time please call for more information.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the commuters, old and new, for choosing to travel with Buzzlines.
Buzzlines operates a regular commuter service into London Canary Wharf each working weekday. The main service operates from Sellindge and picks up at South Willesborough, Park Farm, Singleton and Godinton Park before a further stop at Maidstone Services on the M20 and onwards direct to Canary Wharf.
Currently the main service departs Ashford at around 06:20 aiming to arrive in Canary Wharf for 07:50. Arriving in London that early
also means we beat the worst of the congestion that tends to build up in peak hour on the Blackwall Tunnel Approach. The evening service departs Canary Wharf at 17:45. Typical journey times between the Wharf and Ashford are about 90 minutes.
Buzzlines does not claim to match the train service for its versatility, but for many people being able to hop-on to the coach and
forget about changes and connections is the ideal way to commute and you are guaranteed a seat - in the morning many of our regulars enjoy going back to sleep! So much depends on where you live and where your destination is, but if you travel to a regular schedule and our pick-up and drop-off points work well for you, you may well find you save a bit of time, and you should also find you save a great deal of money against the equivalent car connection, parking, rail fare and London underground costs. Our annual season ticket costs are typically about £2,000 less than the rail equivalent, more than that if you also take car parking and car overheads into account where you park at one of the rail stations.
There are corresponding savings for monthly tickets and carnets of 10 singles – the carnets are used quite a lot by those who split their
time between working in London and at home, and for whom the extravagant day rail ticket prices pre-10am are especially punitive.
For many years Buzzlines operated its commuter service onwards from the Wharf into Central London, but in recent years the journey between Westminster and East London has become increasingly tortuous and it has been very difficult to keep to time out of Canary Wharf in the evening with that majority of passengers who work at the Wharf sometimes being kept waiting whilst the coach struggled through traffic hold ups in the City. It was therefore decided from April 2016 only to operate the service to and from the Wharf, but we recognise the additional cost of Oystercards for passengers travelling to central destinations via the Jubilee Line or DLR by offering a £500 discount on Buzzlines' own annual season ticket charges.
Although the service is provided mainly for commuters, we recognise that for some passengers we may offer a valuable option for more local travel, especially in the mornings when our service runs well before any scheduled domestic bus services along the A20. There is therefore a secondary fare structure which applies only for travel between points up to and including Maidstone Services. We hope this may be of particular help to those on early duties at the William Harvey Hospital or the supermarkets or outlet centre.
Our state-of-the-art vehicles are all fitted with Tom-Tom tracker devices allowing their position to be monitored via smartphones, and have on-board wifi and USB charging points. Customers will find the seat pitch generous (equivalent to our touring coach standard) and conducive to a comfortable and relaxing journey.
For any passengers new to the service, Buzzlines will offer a free trial for up to a week. Please contact the Travel Centre to make arrangements - call 01303 261870 or email email@example.com
