The Thursford Christmas Spectacular is the biggest and most exciting Christmas show of all time in Britain. Come and experience the popular blend of Christmas entertainment, with dazzling dancers, beautiful costumes, Christmas songs, carols, including outstanding music and singing from their cast of over one hundred.

Each show is a pageant of spectacle and colour - the music a seamless transition from an up-beat dance routine to a choral rendition of a Christmas carol, a show which would not be out of place in any London West End theatre.

    Thursford Chrismtmas Spectacular

It all started one Christmas, more than 25 years ago, when a small festive show took place in the rural location of Thursford. Featuring the choral scholars of King's College Cambridge, organisers had little idea that their seasonal offering would be the birth of what is now England's largest Christmas show.

The location may be remote, but each year thousands of visitors make an annual pilgrimage to experience the multi-million pound Thursford Christmas Spectacular.

The Auditorium is a grotto in itself. Antique carousels, fairground organs and steam engines, surround the 1,500 seats plus the whole lot is decked out with enough fairy lights to put a twinkle in everyone's eye. A magical show in a magical setting.

    ITINERARY

DAY 1 WEDNESDAY - We travel from Kent to our base on the outskirts of Cromer in North Norfolk. We include a stop on the way in the charming and historic town of Bury St Edmunds. We then aim to arrive at Thursford around 12-1215pm when the complex opens so you can enjoy the range of "olde worlde" shops and refreshments on offer. The show begins at 2pm and is an extravaganza of non-stop singing, dancing, music, humour and variety. It's a fast moving 3-hour celebration of the festive season featuring an electric mix of both seasonal and year round favourites. Once the show has finished we re-board the coach and return to the hotel in time for dinner.

Norwich is a wonderful fusion of the modern and historic, one complementing the other. Like any great city its centre is easy to walk around and has a river at its heart. As well as being the UK's most complete medieval city, it has a flourishing arts, music and cultural scene, superb independent as well as High Street shopping and lively restaurants plus a heritage that is a delight to explore. The city’s historic street layout is wonderfully haphazard, but there’s no need to get lost, just look for the obvious landmarks – the spire of the majestic Norman Cathedral, the domineering castle on its tall mound and City Hall's clock tower.

The Thursford Christmas Spectacular is the biggest and most exciting Christmas show of all time in Britain. Come and experience the popular blend of Christmas entertainment, with dazzling dancers, beautiful costumes and Christmas songs and carols including outstanding music and singing from their cast of over one hundred. Each show is a pageant of spectacle and colour - the music a seamless transition from an up-beat dance routine to a choral rendition of a Christmas carol, a show which would not be out of place in any London West End theatre.

It all started one Christmas, more than 25 years ago, when a small festive show took place in the rural location of Thursford and has now become England's largest Christmas show and each year thousands of visitors make an annual pilgrimage to experience the multi-million pound Thursford Christmas Spectacular. The Auditorium is a grotto in itself. Antique carousels, fairground organs and steam engines surround the 1,500 seats plus the whole lot is decked out with enough fairy lights to put a twinkle in everyone's eye. A magical show in a magical setting.

    ITINERARY (subject to change)

DAY 1 TUESDAY - We travel from Kent to our base on the outskirts of Cromer in North Norfolk. We include a stop on the way in the picturesque medieval market town of Saffron Walden. In recent years, the town and surrounding area has won the title of "Britain's most desirable rural area to live" and it has an abundance of beautiful half-timbered houses, narrow lanes, crooked roofs and ancient buildings. Our visit coincides with market day which offers a variety of stalls and produce.

DAY 2 WEDNESDAY - Following breakfast in the hotel, we head out to discover the delights of the historic city of Norwich with its magnificent cathedral, Norman castle and cobbled streets. With a great mix of independent shops in the Norwich Lanes including the famous Colman’s Mustard Shop it’s no wonder Norwich is one of the best places to visit. The city also has the largest permanent undercover market in Europe plus many museums and ancient pubs and buildings such as St Andrew's Hall, half-timbered houses such as Dragon Hall, The Guildhall and Strangers' Hall, the Art Nouveau delight of the 1899 Royal Arcade, a jumble of medieval lanes and a delightful riverside along the winding Wensum.

We return to the hotel in the afternoon via a stop at the delightful Wroxham Barns offering a range of local produce and gift ideas.

DAY 3 THURSDAY - After a leisurely breakfast, we leave the hotel and will enjoy a drive along the North Norfolk coast. We then aim to arrive at Thursford around 12pm when the complex opens so you can enjoy the range of "olde worlde" shops and refreshments on offer. The show begins at 2pm and is an extravaganza of non-stop singing, dancing, music, humour and variety. It's a fast moving 3-hour celebration of the festive season featuring an electric mix of both seasonal and year round favourites. Once the show has finished we re-board the coach and return home arriving back in Kent mid to late evening subject to traffic.

Please note: Christmas Spectacular tickets do not include entrance to the Santa's Magical Journey building. Visit Thursford's website should you wish to purchase your own tickets.
