  • The Queen's 90th Birthday Celebration

Celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday by attending the spectacular pageant held in her honour within the private grounds of Windsor Castle. The Celebration has been created by the same team behind the hugely successful Diamond Jubilee Pageant held in 2012 and will feature over 900 horses and 1,500 performers from the UK and across the world.

This 90 minute extravaganza will cover a 90 year journey, from the Queen’s birth through to the Second World War, her marriage, the coronation and a reign that has spanned more than 60 years. It will showcase not only the Queen’s life but her love of horses, her dedication to the Commonwealth and international affairs plus her deep involvement with the Army, Navy and Air Force.

The Celebration will take advantage of the latest special effects, with video projection, LED effects and theatrical lighting to go along with the horses, actors, bands and dancers. This truly will be a one in a lifetime event: a member of the Royal Family will attend each performance and the stunning setting provides beautiful views of the lit-up Castle by night, plus this is the only time of the year that the public are allowed into the grounds!

Subject to traffic, we aim to arrive at the Windsor Castle Showground around 3pm to allow you to enjoy all the attractions available during the Windsor Horse Show, including bars, restaurants and over 250 shops. The performance will begin at 8.45pm, with customers asked to take their seats at 8.15pm. The show will finish at 10.30pm so customers are advised that this will be a late return home.

  • Kings Road,Saatchi Gallery & Physic Garden

Chelsea might be best known these days for its extravagantly-financed football club, but in this extended day visit we check-out its alternative attractions!

Setting out from Kent late morning, we make first for Sloane Square where we set down near the Saatchi Gallery. For many of us contemporary art may not be a first-choice attraction, but the Saatchi is renowned for its varied, imaginative and inventive exhibitions – a check of the fine Trip Advisor reports testify to its appeal - http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g186338-d601169-Reviews-Saatchi_Gallery-London_England.html

The Gallery is free to enter and we can come and go as we please, and with Sloane Square and the Kings Road just a few minutes stroll away there should be plenty of time to explore the shops and find a spot for lunch.

At 4pm we reassemble for the short hop across to Chelsea Embankment where we enjoy the rest of the afternoon and into the evening in another of the borough’s fine attractions – the Chelsea Physic Garden. This walled Garden was founded in 1673 by the Worshipful  Society of Apothecaries for its apprentices to study the medicinal qualities of plants and it became one of the most important centres of botany and plant exchange in the world. Today, as an independent charity the Garden relies on the support of visitors and Friends to help protect and nurture the Garden for future generations.

In July and August midweek the garden extends its opening hours into the evening so we can enjoy a relaxed visit which can include supper in the garden’s intriguingly-named Tangerine Dream café.

The Garden’s warm microclimate means that many tender plants can flourish including a number of rare and endangered species. It has the largest outdoor fruiting olive tree in Britain and the world’s most northerly outdoor grapefruit tree. From pomegranates to gingkos, mulberries to eucalyptus, there are over 100 different types of tree in the Garden, many of which are rare in Britain.  The glasshouses hold a collection of tropical and sub-tropical species, complemented by a Victorian Cool Fernery.

We time our homebound departure for 8.30pm so rush-hour traffic will have long since subsided for an easy journey home.

Brought to theatrical life by a legendary creative team, Disney's new Broadway musical Aladdin will sweep you into a world filled with beauty, comedy and breathtaking spectacle. With exhilarating choreography, show stopping production and astonishing visual effects - including a real flying carpet - Disney's Aladdin has been described by New York Magazine as 'musical comedy wish-fulfillment'

Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon) with music by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast), Aladdin features lyrics by Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast), Tim Rice (The Lion King) and Chad Beguelin (Elf), who also wrote the book. Featuring the timeless songs from the classic film including A Whole New World, Friend Like Me and Arabian Nights along with new music written for the production, Aladdin is an extraordinary theatrical event you will want to be amongst the first to experience.
